UGRA residents told about Deaflympics

These past weekends, promotional campaigns of the upcoming Winter Deaflympics were held in shopping malls in Khanty-Mansiysk and Surgut.

Residents and visitors from around the country were told about the upcoming occasion. In Khanty-Mansiysk's shopping mall the action was accompanied with choreographic performances from local bands. In Surgut, "Aura" shopping centre, the Games mascot - Mammoth greeted and welcomed all interested onlookers to join in for a photo session.

The mascot was actively handing out souvenirs of Winter Deaflympics such as: flags, badges, and magnets. Naturally, Mammoth made a great impression on the children.

The purpose of promotion is to remind Ugra and its folks about the major sports events coming soon, which begins on March 28. The federal level actively supports Deaflympics. Recently, the Minister of Sport, Vitaly Mutko, once again reminded the viewers of the upcoming games in Khanty-Mansiysk and Magnitogorsk through TV channel "Russia-2".

On 1st March, the organizing committee stopped accepting the applications from media in covering the Games. As a result, media representatives from 80 various companies will be sending their representatives to Deaflympics, said the organizing committee of the event.

As noted, Deaflympians will compete in skiing, snowboarding, curling and hockey in Khanty-Mansiysk. In Magnitogorsk, there will be competitions in alpine skiing.

The entrance to all competitions will be free of charge.
