ALPINE SKIING / MAGNITOGORSK AND KHANTY-MANSIYSK

 

Ski center "Metallurg-Magnitogorsk" was opened on the 5th December 2003. Its slopes are located on the slopes of Mount Yamankay (South Urals), whose height is 942.8 meters above sea level. Russia, Republic of Bashkortostan, Lake Jakty -Kul (Lake Bath).

 

Center is equipped with the first Russian company Gondola lift Doppelmayr. On all routes installed snowmaking system that allows you to maintain the length of the ski season from November to April.

ICE HOCKEY / KHANTY-MANSIYSK

 

Cultural and entertainment complex “Arena Ugra” was put into operation in 2008. This unique building is an autonomous multifunctional sport center with a professional ice rink. Its capacity is 5500 spectators. The total area of the complex is 19 440 sq. m.

Equipment of the complex meets the Regulation requirements of the Kontinental Hockey League Championship. The complex satisfies up-to-date requirements for hosting international competitions. Generally, it hosts hockey and figure-skating competitions, and possibilities of the complex are not limited. After the necessary transformation the rink is converted into the sports ground for futsal, volleyball, basketball, handball, tennis, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, boxing as well as a concert venue for celebrities’ performance.

There is a souvenir shop with hockey club attributes “Sector D”, four changing rooms and toilets for spectators on the ground floor. 

There is a lounge, a restaurant with capacity of 150 seats (the main hall is 321 sq. m. and VIP-area is 80 sq. m.) as well as 9 bars for spectators on the first floor.

SNOWBOARD / KHANTY-MANSIYSK

 

The alpine complex “Khvoynyi Urman” is located in the central part of the city, in the nature park “Samarovskiy Chugas”. The complex is a part of the Alexander Filipenko Winter Sport Center.

Guests of the hotel “On Seven Hills” can reach the complex using the ropeway, the upper station of which is situated near the guest house №7. The main entrance is in a new housing complex, within 5 minutes’ walk from the cultural and entertainment complex “Arena Ugra”, (14, Ledovaya Street).

The complex is 4 km from the hotel “Olympic”, 7,5 km from the Khanty-Mansiysk international airport and 2,5 km from the central square. 

The complex was opened in March 2004. For organizing and holding of competitions of all levels the complex has all the necessary equipment such as safety systems (Liski, Gespi.) and timing equipment (TagHeuer).

The total capacity is about 3000 people. 

The complex includes two courses with a snowmaking system «ArecoSnowsystem AB» and 10 courses of total length more than 15 km for skiing and walking. 

The main course: elevation – 120 m, length – 650 m, width – 100 m. To reach the top of the track the ropeway is used. Its length is 1050 m and it is equipped with a combined carriage rolling stock – 8-sitter gondolas and 4-sitter open chairs, its capacity is 1200 people per hour. The ropeway has 3 intermediate stations and connects “Khvoynyi Urman” with the hotel complex “On seven hills”. 

The training course: elevation – 40 m, length – 250 m. An unsupported towing ropeway (Baby-lift) is used to reach the top of the course.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING / KHANTY-MANSIYSK

 

The Alexander Filipenko Winter Sport Center in Khanty-Mansiysk is a stadium with IBU A license (International Biathlon Union) for holding biathlon, summer biathlon, cross country skiing and archery biathlon competitions.  The Center began operating in 1997. It is located in the ecological zone of nature park “Samarovsky Chugas”. Scenic beauty, a modern shooting range and comfortable stands provide unforgettable impression and pleasure both for fans and participants. 

The Center is located in the central part of Khanty-Mansiysk at a height of 83 meters above sea level, 7.5 km from the international airport of Khanty-Mansiysk and 2.5 km from the central square. Courses are at a height between 63 and 114 meters above sea level. The Center occupies an area of 148387 sqm.  The total length of the course is 15 km. The total capacity is about 13000 people, including the stands with the capacity of 9700 spectators.  

CURLING / KHANTY-MANSIYSK

The Ice Palace was put into operation in 2005. Total area is 21 812 sq. m. The Ice Palace is a multifunctional sport center, which includes a professional ice rink with synthetic ice, tribunes with capacity of 2000 spectators, a 25-meter swimming-pool with 10 lanes, a mini-aquapark, a gym, a choreographical hall, a combat sport hall, a VIP billiard club and a sauna complex.

The main rink of Ice Palace is a big hall with the ground for synthetic ice, which can be easily transformed into the concert or sport venue. Besides the rink and tribunes there is a scoreboard, jury equipment, 5 changing rooms for hockey players, coaching rooms and a press-conference hall.

At the premises of Ice Palace there are sections for children and adults such as hockey, figure skating, ballroom and east dancing, billiard, swimming and water fitness. Also it is possible to hire skates on weekends and holidays.
