More than 50 contestants are claiming to give a name for the mascot of the Deaflympics

For more that a month people of Russia are voting for the best name for the mascot of the XVIII Winter Deaflympics that will take place from March 28 till April 5 2015 in Khanty-Mansiysk.

The Organizing Committee has received more than 50 proposals for the best name for the mascot. Among them are funny names, serious names and regionally-colored names.

For example, Yamal, Little mammoth Ukh, Maximus, Taly Nai, Chester, Yuwie and others.

Today the leading position belongs to Kukuruza (Corn). Spartak is on the second place. And the third popular name is Equi, which means “equal”.
