18   Winter            Deaflympics

For more that a month people of Russia are voting for the best name for the mascot of the 18th Winter Deaflympics that will take place from March 28 till April 5 2015 in Khanty-Mansiysk.

 

The Organizing Committee has received more than 50 proposals for the best name for the mascot. Among them are funny names, serious names and regionally-colored names.

For example, Yamal, Little mammoth Ukh, Maximus, Taly Nai, Chester, Yuwie and others.

Today the leading position belongs to Kukuruza (Corn). Spartak is on the second place. And the third popular name is Equi, which means “equal”.

 

Voting for the best slogan, the name of the mascot of the Deaflympics and the creativity competition are finished.

 

The first three places in every contest, chosen by people, are then judged by the executive directors.

 

It will be remembered that among mascot name variants the leaders are Spartak, Equi and Kukuruza. First positions in the competition of slogans belong to “Let’s give a voice to our sport success”, “Victory in every smile!” and “Yes to victories, no to defeats!”
